If you know anything about electrical at all it’s pretty intuitive and the way the wires are zip tied and their lengths etc. lends to correct installation. Also there’s a diagram in the AMM.

Ahh, thanks Rich, that is a big help. I have been looking in the meantime into the holes and it indeed shows some triangular pin. Now we have to find the tool. The report from my sample taken Friday included only the AL content. So, I think continuing with Blackstone is required if you want access to the additional data. Full reports are available. What is your idle RPM? I wonder if the 2 minute "warm-up" is less about actually warming up and more about the idle increasing in conjunction. Have you bumped the RPM to 1000 right at engine start with no change? A brand new alternator will charge well below 1000 but depending on the batte...

Open and close the canopy and see if the compass moves - if so, then the canopy hinge has become magnetized

They have NO good pistons? If you replace an engine core right now you get bad pistons? Doesn't that mean that if you take delivery of a plane right now you get bad pistons? My understanding is all of the current batch of pistons are “bad”, ie. Oversize by .0015” and/or compromised wrist pin boss. ...

Measuring the bores wouldn’t be too bad, measuring the pistons to then know the clearance would be the chore.
