Re: Newbie Question 8 - Open Emergency Windows for ECU?

Never heard of this. Which sensor should it be? “Opening a windows” sounds like air pressure. But this is certainly not taken from the inside of the plane..

Re: Anyone selling their DA62??

With the 2025 100LL ban coming up in Europe all JetA1 aircraft will become appreciating assets. Plus it’s so much joy to fly. :D

So: Nope, not gonna sell! 8-)

Re: DA50 RG VS SR 22 GTS G3+

You should try flying it before deciding. Hand-flying DA50 is far from easiness of flying DA42 or DA62. I believe I understand why you say this and I felt that the DA50 is a little more complicated to fly manually because of the constant need for trim changes when you significantly change power. Ho...

Re: See you all sometime later

Yeah, I am aware. That’s what I meant with „strapping a batterie under the belly of a DA40“. The result is visible in their overly specific announcement of the flighttime: „ Total flight time is expected to be up to 90 minutes as the battery technology evolves“ „As battery technology evolves…“ likel...

Re: See you all sometime later

All the best for your new adventures! I‘d directly switch to electric if available with meaningful (2-3h flighttime+reserve). That said I am also sure that strapping a battery to the belly of a DA40 will not do the trick. Glide ratios of >1:20 are necessary and possible (see Bye Aerospace). I hope t...

Re: COM static

Do you have third party devices attached to the USB/onboard power supply and/or transmit data? We had static issues with COM1 and rarely with COM2 in our DA62 because of a voltage converter from USB to 12V (step-ups are the worst!) in combination with a Golze ADL iridium modem. With a battery power ...

Re: Interested in a Powered LEMO Adapter?

Awesome!

1) 2017 DA40NG in Europe
2) 3 (if it works with the NG as well)

DA62 already has powered Lemos next to the traditional dual plugs (i think that was a standard from the beginning)

Re: G1000 Legacy & NXi upgrade program

I think the best future avionics will provide a generic display overlay and data stream interface via wifi to an iPad or other wifi devices. The interface itself needs to be certified and sandboxed so that it can not overload the host system. Basically think „Airplay for planes“. That would make avi...

Re: L ENG ECU FAIL during runup...

We had the similar behavior with our left engine. After stops for a few hours with increasing temperature the ecu test pass didn’t pass. After reading out the ECUs (we actually now carry a laptop with cable to be able to do this anytime) and talking to Diamond support we found that the left engine g...

Re: Nxi upgrade

And since it’s so compelling it is just investing into the value of the plane. That’s why we also decided to do the P2-Upgrade and while enjoying the advantages of the new software.
