Re: FlightGlobal - Diamond's piston-engined family gets flightdeck upgrade

Good point. I hope to be talking to my factory contact at the start of the week and I will see what the feelings are up there.

Re: Only one green after maintenance

Could totally be the bulbs, since they were installed at the same time, why not fail at the same time? Since the button test showed they were blown, I am surprised the shop didn't catch it. But your red light is not on, which means the limit switches all got hit correctly, right? (There's someone on...

what DAI wants us to do and the reason they are crippling the alternatives One of the things I have learned from the electric vehicle world is that it may *feel* like the manufacture is purposefully crippling alternatives, but they are actually allocating limited resources according to some interna...

Re: DA20 down in Germany

The towers in the midwest flatlands scare me. I love that I have a database of them on the moving map, but I am keenly aware that it is not necessarily totally inclusive. I am much happier once I am +2500 AGL out there. There was an accident in Texas where the pilot his the supporting wire, which is...

I actually did pretty well going into an REI outdoor place. They had a bunch of different clips and just matched one.

Re: Prop strike

At US Aero (original Western states dealer for Diamond) in Denver they tried to taxi a DA40 with the tow bar still attached. Similar result to these stories.

No photos of the finished plane?

What trips have you taken that you wouldn't have in the old plane?

Re: DA41 ? Let's design it!

As I understood it, the DA40 takeoff weight was limited by the landing gear (thus if I was careful I could take off with full fuel and be under my landing weight by the time I completed my trip, something the airlines often do). It was all about dropping the plane on the landing gear and getting the...

Re: DA41 ? Let's design it!

I would never buy a Diamond without a center stick. That's one of the things that sold the plane for me. The side stick in the Cessna TT is okay. The side yoke in the Cirrus is no fun at all. Get me onto the autopilot as quickly as possible with that thing. I think Diamond Canada should hire Antoine.
