Re: Help me plan my mediterranean trip please
Aquarius-, Gatorade- or any wideneck-bottles, btw, are better than any other fashionable pilot-p-devices. You can close them easily and throw them away in flight. Who wants to put them on the floor while flying, wash them out to reuse them after taking them out of the plane in front of the guys sta...

Re: KAP140 Autopilot Pitch Fault
The autopilot has a Different static source than the pitot/static instruments. That is why the tubing is red. This was done to address the porpoising issue that some had. The autopilot controller also gets altitude data from the encoder (in steam gauge airframes) or from the G1000.

Re: KAP140 Autopilot Pitch Fault
My aircraft had recurring pitch trim failures when it was about 6 - 12 months old. Eventually, they replaced the computer with a refurbished one. Same problem reappeared about 3 months later! This time they replaced it with a new computer - no problems since then, 8 years, knock on wood. Steve, whe...

Kurt:
My recollection is that it goes to the "drain manifold", that aluminum tube that extends down into the slipstream below the belly. It shares the common drain with the crankcase breather and the engine driven fuel pump drain line.

Re: More robust, Diamond or Cessna? Your forever airplane!
I should have been a little more mission specific with my question. Although I hesitate to call this a retirement aircraft, if you were going to buy your last, keep forever, fly all over the USA to just see what is over the horizon airplane, would it be a Cessna or Diamond? You have plenty of time ...

Re: Updated DA-40 AD for passenger door retaining bracket. 1
Hi Robin, this bracket is a weak piont. When opening the door, it should be held by hand till it is fully open. Specialy in windy conditions. After the flight, I allways open it myself and tell the Passengers in the back to wait till I open it from outside. Thomas Same here. Plus my rear hatch gets...

Re: Weight and Balance Calculator
I have this one:

I like it. Fairly easy to program your aircraft's data, allows custom templates, and has a nice W&B envelope diagram with takeoff weight/landing weight/zero fuel weight shown on it. Pretty cheap, too...
