Re: Best Compound/Polish/Wax for My Bird
The paint cannot be blended correctly on partial paint repairs after silicone is applied. Needs a complete stripping in order to not see the blend. The new paint will not adhere over the silicone impregnated old paint as it gets into it on a molecular level. Same can apply to painting boats and blen...

Re: TKS Fluid
HI David I saw your DA42 there last Christmas when we were there and dreamed of owning one. Wish come true this year. My brother in law lives in Crosswicks so were visiting. 5 airports and 650nm for the holidays and only 55 gallons of fuel. This is an awesome cross country machine. I made it from Ne...

Re: Need a Solution for Faded Areas After Decal Removal
3M Perfect-it compound through finishing glaze will restore the gloss to everything but the dullest aircraft but the process is very labor intensive in 3 steps. Depending on how faded the aircraft is you need to keep working the paint finish with a machine and different pad grades using the liquid. ...

Re: Jeppesen Chartview to Flitecharts
The upside to the Jeppesen charts is the iPad mobile flight deck application which I really like. Will fly the plane this weekend with the Jepp charts and will give a pirep

Re: Adding WAAS?
I can't say I missed very many approaches in 10 years and 2000 hours that WAAS would have got me in. Only 1 comes to mind into BVY where I had an alternate at BED. I was lucky though that the majority of airports I plan for has an ILS but 200' AGL WAAS minimum versus a 400' AGL non-WAAS but I have f...

Re: Tinted rear window?
Might heat the plexi up in the sun if you did that and cause it to crack. I think Colin needed a canopy replacement by leaving a suction cup stuck on the inside!

Re: Fuel pressure indicator
You should have Fuel pressure on a 2007 if you have the latest software. You should have it on both the default view and engine page. I have experienced the low fuel pressure warning on a couple of occasions but only above 11,000' Turning on the electric fuel pump will resolve the issue. if you are ...

Re: Jeppesen Chartview to Flitecharts
After getting blown off by Infinity in Nashua ( I had dropped the plane off so they could reprogram it and after a week they still had not got to programming it) i just decided to get a credit back for the Flitecharts subscription from Garmin and purchase the Jeppesen subscription for the Northeast....

TKS Fluid
Shopping for TKS Fluid for the plane. Did not see it posted here before but DW Davies was least expensive I could find with CAV Ice Protection next. I ended up purchasing the 4-1 gallon containers and picked up 12 gallons total. The shipping seems to add up on these from many suppliers with a hazard...

Re: Best sun shade for DA40?
I purchased two of the Rosen ones a while back and the material was so thin that they hardly block the sun at all. Have they improved them and put the darker material back?
