Wheel Fairing - Tow Protection

My previous DA40. a 2005 DA40 had a stainless tow protector on the outer side of the front wheel fairing. It was held in place using the 2 fasteners behind the tow eye. My current airplane, an XLS model does not have this added protection. Anyone on DAN have any info on where/how I could get this ad...

SS is $1270 at Aircraft Spruce. That part cost sounds like price gouging. I like the SS and I wouldn’t go without.

I have an 08 XLS - it has fasteners around the trim. Maybe worth calling diamond to see if there is a work procedure to add fasteners to older airframes.

Based on you mentioning power setting (fadec), I assume your airplane is an DA40 NG.

I had exact same issue. MSEL/commercial and instrument rated w 700h. I walked away from a DA42 purchase because insurance was completely insane and that was WITH a named multi-instructor on policy and mandatory dual until I had a few hundred hours in type. Not seen error but I speculate its the magnetometer (Heading). Possible bad ground for just an instant….

Abnormal procedures should be something reviewed regularly for proficiency.
