Re: Recent maintenance

Looks like the link with tapatalk may have broken as result of the recent updates. I suspect the plugin version I had installed wasn't compatible with the newer version of php. I've updated to the latest plugin version, and the Tapatalk dashboard seems happy now. Can somebody try it out and report ...

Re: run up button

One of my runup buttons had this behavior once after maintenance. I believe it turned out to be a loose connection somewhere between the button and the ECU.

Re: Rear Door departs a DA40 after takeoff

I'm surprised at the news coverage of this. I guess there must not have been much else going on at the time. The above article says the FAA will investigate, but a door departure is not a reportable event. Not quite sure what that is about -- unless some further damage happened during landing? Or p...

Recent maintenance

I've been working on migrating a bunch of the back-end software to more recent versions to try to keep on top of security updates, etc, and I finally pushed all of that live this evening. In theory , everything should work exactly like it did before. However, if you notice anything odd or missing, p...

Re: Time for TKS to Coat Wings

I’m puzzled with this low pressure warning. Is it normal/expected behavior or it happens just occasionally on some aircrafts? I think it's "normal" during the first few minutes of starting the system, i.e. when getting the air bubbles out of the lines. (I don't know if there are actually ...

Re: Time for TKS to Coat Wings

Is this the first time the right wing was slower to get wet? I'm not sure if the plumbing is completely symmetric or if the LH wing has a shorter path from the pump(s). My DA42's RH wing might take a little longer than the LH wing, but not that much longer. I've started using the HIGH setting (not M...

Re: DA40NG - CO detector needed?

Not sure why link isn’t working I'm not sure either, but it has something to do with DAN's "embedded media plugin" trying to provide a clickable preview instead of a raw URL for amazon.com links. I'll investiage a bit. Meanwhile, I've tried to make your original post clickable (without th...

Re: Long range cruise

I see on page 5-26 of the AFM the landing gear should be retracted. But how 8-) I suppose if you have a support plane you could try a variant of the Gladys Ingle technique , but I can't recommend it. Nice catch. For anybody looking, that is shown in the 01-Jul-2014 DA40-NG AFM, which is still avail...

Re: How to best buy a Diamond Aircraft and afford the lifestyle

If you are based in Edmonton, I'd highly suggest getting in touch with Ed McDonald . He's the president of the Diamond Pilots Association and flies a DA62 out of CFB6. I've flown a DA40 across the US Rockies a few times and much prefer flying the DA42 when making that trip. I don't know the routes t...
