Re: Alternative avionics for DA42 TDI
Just so I understand. Are those conversions of a DA40 G1000 or of an analog DA40? Only the first photo is of a DA40D; the rest must be from a Cessna based on the yoke. Alternative avionics for DA42 TDI
Once GDU 15 is released, DA42 TDI owners will come to final state of their avionics: - legacy G1000 - non-WAAS (GIA63) or WAAS (GIA63W) - KAP140 or GFC700 No further upgrades of hardware or software will be possible beyond what's listed above. Except if you go for AE300 and then possibly apply for N...

Re: G1000 Legacy upgrade program for DA42TDI
Just a quick update: we're waiting for DAI's official dates for releasing their SB which will cover all versions of GIA63W (currently only -01 can be installed) and will be accompanied with GDU upgrade to ver. 15. GDU 15 will be the last software upgrade for DA42 TDI. No other upgrades (HW or SW) wi...

Re: What's the catch?
Three DA-42s listed at $225K in Mesa, Arizona. Here's a sample. https://www.trade-a-plane.com/search?category_level1=Multi+Engine+Piston&make=DIAMOND&model=DA42+TWIN+STAR&listing_id=2391088&s-type=aircraft Sure, flight school, as is, plenty of wear I'm sure. Even so, the prices are ...

Re: Citation crash 1/9/21
Disclosure: I'm currently 74 years old Wow! I wish I'll be able to fly in 20 years (now 54). Moreover it wasn't just that he didn't have the type rating but had apparently been specifically evaluated as not being proficient enough. And he filed with 2 persons aboard. This seems like maybe an attemp...

Re: Citation crash 1/9/21
From the report: The pilot held a private pilot certificate, and although he held type ratings for the Grumman G-111 Albatross and Learjet, FAA records did not indicate that he held a type rating for the Citation 560. He had taken Citation 560 training toward the end of 2020 at a training facility i...
