Re: G1000 Trainer on Windows 10
I have a similar issue with Windows 10. Mine will start in dual screen mode. After just a few minutes of running, I get red X's, then shuts down. It worked fine on the older Windows platform. I wonder if it's an issue with the 32 bit version of older Windows and the newer 64 bit version of Windows 1...

Re: intermittant GPS
Since I don't really know anyway. I thought if the number of satellites weren't sufficient, the system would downgrade, not go offline? I didn't look at the AUX page to see, but you would think that at least two or more satellites would always be present? I know it takes 3 to triangulate and 4 for t...

Re: intermittant GPS
I'm sorry, I should have been more detailed in my equipment listing. I have a 2012 DA40 with the G-1000/GFC 700 with WAAS panels. When the GPS quit, my tablet did not. I was able to look at the moving map to help with situational awareness. In recycling the power, it seemed to fix it. I couldn't cyc...

intermittant GPS
I'm hoping someone can shed some light on an issue. I was flying with GPS on a IFR training flight. The GPS quit working. I noticed that in the window that it said there weren't enough satellites in view. I know where I was and have a hard time thinking that was the real problem. Everything else see...

Re: G1000 Trainer IAP database update
Keith, I'm glad that you are helping. Let's take this back a step or two. I do have Windows 10, but I need the full list of instructions to get this accomplished. I don't know a batch file from a batch of cookies. If you could walk me through a few more steps, that would be great. I can find the fil...

Re: G1000 Trainer IAP database update
Ok, I need help with this one. I have a DA40 and my Trainer software is 9.13 How do I update from my current SD cards to the trainer? I see the "batch" file from above, but in simpler terms, how is it done? Will someone help me with a step by step to import the current data to the older si...

Re: Hand Flying approaches
Thank you Wayne, that was the clarification I was looking for. I'm going to order the CD course from Max Trescott. I'll have to add that to the online course for taking the instrument written test.
Thanks,
Curt

Re: Hand Flying approaches
A lot of information, great information. Thank you to all for the input. The entering, loading, and activating approaches is something to learn and burn into memory. Knowing when to activate, and not forgetting, is key. If hand flying, do you need to push the APR button once you activate the approac...

Hand Flying approaches
I'm starting my instrument rating training with the DA40. I have the G1000 and GFC-700. Most of my flying for training purposes is "hand flying". I've never been formally trained with the G1000/GFC700, and my instructor isn't familiar with it (excellent, but old school). The only other loc...
