continued from previous post - - -
QBE quoted me $12,155 for $1,200,000 hull and $1.000.000 smooth liability for renewal this year. Last year it was 11,100 (and the hull value was 1,300,000). No additional yearly training requirements by them.
I decided to renew with QBE.
Taking the hull value change (100,000 lower this year than last) into account, the premium went up approx 17% from last year. I sure hope this "levels off" sometime soon!!
In all the previous quotes for this year's insurance, the hull part of the premium was approx $11,000 (QBE) to $11,628 (Old Republic) of the total price.

Eastern Aviation Insurance/Aerovon has been really easy to work with, in my limited experience. For my 2004 DA40, $1,523 on $210k hull + $266 for $1mm/$100k, $5k medical, $100k voluntary settlement ex. crew for a total of $1,789 for the year, despite relatively low total hours and time in type. That's with private + instrument, for what it's worth.

My insurance policy renews in October. My last 3 annual premiums were unchanged. I have lower limits for hull - $125K. $1,569 from Avemco.

Just got my Avemco bill for this year (due Sept.). The last several years were just under $1100. This year $1420. $110K hull.
Being 73 years old might be a factor.

I have used AIM of Ohio for the past decade. Steve Neeley is my agent. It is a small pilot staffed broker. They are incredibly well versed in the business and responsive.

Currently have insurance with global aerospace, 180k hull and 1m liability. 1700 for a 2006.
currently going through a claim with them, the adjustor is being difficulty/dragging things out and haven't been able to come up with a solution for 2 month.
would not recommend them.

Old Republic here. DA42-VI
700k hull, $1m liability, 100k/pax. $5951 premium. Middle aged pilots, lowest time 1600 hours. all ATPs, but I think it'd be the same for commercial/instrument.

Try Avemco. They go direct so no broker fees are added. Also, as the market price has actually gone up on used replacement Stars, they actually increased my hull value from the previous year without me even asking them to do so, and at the same time, the premium was reduced by several hundred dollars.
