Re: G1000 Legacy & NXi upgrade program
As my DA40 has the KAP140 I’m glad to hear about the approaches working well. Thanks for the update!

Re: G1000 Legacy & NXi upgrade program

I didn’t try that

I believe it’s related to GDU version rather than to WAAS support.

Will it fly holds with GDU15 when it becomes available for GIA63W and KAP140 equipped DA42TDI, as DAI promised?

Re: G1000 Legacy & NXi upgrade program
My apologies on the previous post, I didn't realize we were talking about a DA42. As the owner of a GIA63W upgraded 2004 DA40 running 321.23 GDU v12.05, I can assure you that it does not fly holds on autopilot. Not sure about future GDU versions.ememic99 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 23, 2020 1:28 pmWill it fly holds with GDU15 when it becomes available for GIA63W and KAP140 equipped DA42TDI, as DAI promised?

Re: G1000 Legacy & NXi upgrade program
I am not sure why WAAS (SBAS) would be required to be able to fly holds. This seems to be a Garmin SW limitation independent of the level of GPS accuracy.

I have always heard that the KAP 140 cannot fly holds. But who cares; the heading bug + timer is good enough!

Re: G1000 Legacy & NXi upgrade program
It won't fly holds with any version of the G1000. If I had to guess, it is because the KAP140 is driven by a separate (hidden) attitude indicator. I couldn't fly them in my older DA40 with a KAP140 with or without WAAS, etc., and can with my Garmin AP DA40.
