Painting metal parts

Post by JohnE »

I have some areas I want to repaint (chipped paint, small surface rust) on the NLG and MLG. Overall very small areas. I see the paint listed as BASF Paint HS82004. (Olympia White). Can I source this paint locally at a body shop? What is the minimum quantity? Surface prep would be solvent, sanding, tack cloth? Can I use a small airbrush tool to do the painting?

Thanks for any advice. - John

Hate to reply to my own post, but it seems like its a big issue getting BASF paint. Ended up using a rustoleum paint that matched pretty well. -John

I used white spray paint used on refrigerators and such for touch ups. Worked well.
