Re: Installing AeroLEDs Pulsar NSP strobe/position LEDs
Chris,
I'm considering making this change to the AeroLED strobe/position lights, and I was looking on AircraftSpruce for the part. I found this part selling for $1137 TSO'd. There is no color choice in the ordering info (red / green) - is this a PAIR of lights? Otherwise, how do you order one red and one green? The part description is no help here. Is this what you ordered?

Finally raised someone at Aircraft Spruce, who confirmed that this part number 11-10478 is indeed a PAIR of the wingtip lights, one red and one green.
With all of Chris's fantastic pictures and advice, this should be a simple modification next time I'm at the shop.
Thanks, guys!

Are you going to do your own install with a sign off or have your AnP do it?

Re: Installing AeroLEDs Pulsar NSP strobe/position LEDs
I'll do it myself, but at the shop so they can sign it off and file the paperwork. They get some money, I get a hangar to work in, and it's all nice and legal.Gasser wrote:Are you going to do your own install with a sign off or have your AnP do it?

Re: Installing AeroLEDs Pulsar NSP strobe/position LEDs
Would like to do this to my aircraft. My A&P was asking if I could get the documents that where used for another install to help get approval. Could you possibly send me a copy of your paper work?

I want these and also the upper and lower red beacons. Can you tell us about those?

Re: Installing AeroLEDs Pulsar NSP strobe/position LEDs
While I dont have all the specific details - yet - I do know that DAI is working on a factory approved LED strobe installation. I have not yet been able to get any more detail on which mfg or timing yet but I do know it is an active project. Will post more info as soon as I get it. The reason I am posting this is not to derail anyone who wants to do this but just to let you know that a factory approved installation might satisfy some owner's needs without going through a lot of hassle figuring out which one and how to do it - legally. More news as it is known

Really? Take a look at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BShoqQG2G8 and then tell me about "crammed". BTW my prior hangar had less than 2" clearance on each side.Gasser wrote:Since I'm crammed into a 42' hanger at the moment I'm going to wait until I build and move into my new one with the 60' door...got to plan for the future
