Congratulations! Your shiny new instrument rating is a great tool to open up new opportunities and give you more options to stay safe.
If you're up for a little trip west, you could try Arnold Palmer's airport in Latrobe, PA (KLBE). They used to have a fantastic Sunday brunch on the field, and I DO mean fantastic! I have been there many times, and it was always well worth the trip. A nice Class D airport with a friendly little tower, and an exceptional restaurant. http://www.denunziosrestaurant.com/DeNu ... trobe.html

From eastern PA, just a few of the nearby "$100 hamburger" flights for lunch with restaurants on-field
- Millville, NJ (KMIV)
- Flying W, NJ (N14)
- Ocean City, NJ (26N)
- Georgetown, DE (KGED)
- Chester County, PA (KMQS)
- Lancaster, PA (KLNS)
- Frederick, MD (KFDK)
- Hagerstown, MD (KHGR)
You have to visit the Piper Museum in Lock Haven, PA (KLHV) where all Cubs, TriPacers, Commanches, etc. were built before the factory got flooded out in 1976. A short walk into town will provide a place to eat lunch.
A fun flight a bit further is to Luray, VA (KLUA) to visit Luray Caverns. Since the folks who run the caverns also own the airport, they'll give you a free shuttle ride from/to the airport; you can also have lunch at the caverns.

I might also add. Reading Pa. great Resturant right inside the terminal with large windows facing the ramp so you can look at your airplane while you eat. Also across the field is a “Warbird museum” (I can’t remember the name) that I haven’t visited yet but plan to this summer. We also enjoyed the Resturant on the field at Butler Pa.
Have fun and enjoy!

Fly into either 7N1 or KELM and go to the Corning Museum. Really cool demonstrations on making glass.

Agreed. Also the nearby Glenn Curtis aviation museum near Hammondsport is worth seeing.beetlebug wrote:Fly into either 7N1 or KELM and go to the Corning Museum. Really cool demonstrations on making glass.
