Don’t forget you must have a Hartzell HC-C2YR-1BF/F7497 (74”) prop! You cannot use the stock F7495S!

Actually you have a choice of 3 props - 2 of them Hartzell. It need not be the Hartzell composite.Ultrapilot1 wrote:Don’t forget you must have a Hartzell HC-C2YR-1BF/F7497 (74”) prop! You cannot use the stock F7495S!

Re: PowerFlow Exhaust retro-fit
The prop I suggested is the aluminum. The composite is substantially more expensive. The Power Flow folks said these are approved for use with the exhaust.

They are. Hartzell would not OK their earlier prop for this modification. Choice is MT, this prop or the composite.Ultrapilot1 wrote:The prop I suggested is the aluminum. The composite is substantially more expensive. The Power Flow folks said these are approved for use with the exhaust.

Re: PowerFlow Exhaust retro-fit
Does anyone know the actual difference between the two metal Hartzell props? It looks like they are the same diameter, but the one that works for powerflow is ~15 pounds heavier or so.
Also, comparing Hartzell's metal and composite props, according to their website the heavy 74" metal powerflow compliant prop is faster than their 76" composite prop. Seems counter intuitive, Id imagine the extra 2" diameter and complex paddle shape would be the faster of the two.

Re: PowerFlow Exhaust retro-fit
I was told by Hartzell that the 7497 is stronger so it can go to 2600 rpm and take the additional horsepower the exhaust produces.
