In our case it was the 12 year interval that came first, and that is still binding even with the wing spar AD performed.

Just to add to the discussion on the Major Structural Inspection. It’s every 12 years no matter how many hours. I was hoping the phone call from the maintenance shop was for me to pick up my airplane from the annual. I knew the planes was finally back together and was planning on being done today. Apparently there was some back and forth with Diamond about if it had to be done. Diamond said yes, it must be done every 12 years and mine is a 2010 model. Off come the wings, fuel tanks and horizontal stabilizer
