I think that was a bit of a sleight of hand... the tail number on that plane shows no flights... it is apparently going back to London to be finished.... so I think that was largely a PR stunt
I'll bet the N-number on the plane shown at Oshkosh was temporarily applied just for showing at Airventure. Because the DA50 hadn't been FAA certified, that plane needed to be flown to KOSH using its original OE (Austrian) tail number. Now that the DA50 *is* FAA certified, the plane needs to be inspected by an FAA DAR (Designated Airworthiness Representative) back at the London factory to issue its FAA airworthiness certificate, and Diamond has to reprogram the G1000 NXi/transponder for its N-number.

The FAA type cert says the CD300 Instructions for Continued Airworthiness ICA are incomplete so many DA50s are grounded in Canada.

Nope. The current estimate is to fly it from Austria on 10/30... then some amount of time in Canada

The Lifestyle guys were in Austria a couple of weeks ago and sent me pictures of the plane.

Hopefully the one that I ordered is one of them...

But Diamond sucks at communicating... so I have no idea.

The delivery pilot says the thing will have about 45 hours on it at delivery...
It turns out that one of those planes is mine... I have pictures of it... really cool.

They sent a letter about the certification having some US certification issues with the CD300 related to paperwork... which hopefully get sorted soon.

I suspect that the issues are mainly FAA not Diamond/Conti... whatever, it has to be right.

On the ramp at Roanoke, Virginia (KROA), I saw what was claimed to be the first FAA-certified DA50 (N66RG) on the way to Ft Lauderdale, Florida. A team from Premier Aircraft was ferrying the plane from Ontario.
