We decided to fly (IFR) from Germany to Scotland end of July for a couple of days. Airport of entry to the UK will be around London (Biggin Hill etc.), so to have a stop-over approx. 3 hours past departure for re-fuelling etc..
We are planning to proceed northbound the same day of course, but we are not yet sure about the places to go. First night should be a bigger airport in the North with 24/7 and ILS - maybe PIK, taking into consideration the unreasonable fees at Edinburgh for example. Any other ideas?
And for the rest: any good ideas or experiences for such kind of a trip?
Thanks for your inputs
Ingo

Re: Flying to Scotland - Tips?
Ingo, I think your choice of Prestwick is the best place to stop. Their charges are published here (PDF). The minimum you can expect to pay at Edinburgh is £250, whereas at Prestwick it's £24, plus about £15/day for parking.
Hope you enjoy the trip, and the good weather holds!
