Handy Bench Supply for Working with G1000 in Hangar

Post by rwtucker »

I bought this 30 volt, 10 amp variable power supply on sale with the idea in mind that it would serve as a simple bench supply to keep my 24 volt AGM battery from running down when I am working with the G1000 in the hangar.

I was surprised how well it was constructed. You can regulate the voltage in 1/10 volt increments which permits setting it at the approximate float voltage recommended by Concorde. You can also limit the current. It keeps pace with the current draw of my G1000 in the hangar with nothing else running. It is also useful for testing other 12 and 24 volt equipment around the hangar or running a spare comm unit, etc.

I have seen similar models around the web. I picked this one up for $60 US at http://www.rakuten.com/prod/30v-10a-110 ... =277207384
