Thanks. It seems I am really lucky to be living close. I didn’t realise at the time. Looking forward to a new lifestyle with the plane :)

May apply to new aircraft. Read your DA62 new aircraft purchase agreement -- it's in there. :)
I didn't get this service from Lifestyle. I flew from Seattle to Nashville to pick up the plane, and paid the ferry pilot/CFI who flew it back with me. It may have been different because I actually used that time as lesson time.

Per Dave's post, did your contract with Lifestyle provide for training and/or ferry of your plane to your home airport?

Hello Diamond aviators,

I have a DA62 on order to arrive in a few months, its my first aircraft and I am new to flying. Could you advise on a list of items which should be purchased in addition to the aircraft? eg everything from spare oil to life jackets!

Thanks very much for your advice.

I don't own a DA62, but here are a few general items.

- Bruce's Cover and engine plugs

- Travel chocks (aluminum lightweight) from Aircraft Spruce or others

- See separate threads on Mountain High O2D2 oxygen regulator and boom cannulas. Don't try to order off their website, it's awful, call them

- Ground power unit. The best way to learn the G1000 is in your hangar with a GPU
I have this one: https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/ ... ckkey=8449

-If you are new to the G1000, buy Max Trescott's book and watch a lot of YouTube videos or a couple of the online courses. In the air is a poor time to try to learn how the avionics work.

- You'll probably want a tug. Consider the Best Tugs B5

- I use Aerowash Wash/Wax All with an AeroScrubber and wipe down with microfiber towels from Griots Garage after every flight.

- Plexus plexiglass cleaner for the canopy and window cleaning microfiber towels from Griots Garage.

- Get a few liters of Aeroshell Diesel Ultra oil and carry at least one.

- I pack the ASA fuel tester in a baggie, and then an airtight food plastic food container to keep the smell of Jet-A out of the plane.

- I have a Milwaukee M12 inflator for topping up tire pressures every month or two.

I'm sure others can add to or refine this list!

Just be careful with any wash or cleaner that includes wax, since you don't want to clog the tiny holes of the TKS anti-ice system titanium panels (with 800 laser-drilled holes/sq. inch).

How do you get the bugs off the leading edges?

We use just water and a rag after every flight. You can wax the rest of the wing/stabilizer/vertical tail aft of the TKS panels.
