Hi,
My DA42ng has about 250 hours left on both engines, and when I contacted my diamond service center they told me that it takes 11 months to receive new engines.
Why is it taking so long to get new engines? will this change in near future?

Sounds about right. Everything is super backed up. I have a Lycoming powered DA40. Factory overhauls are at least 30 weeks out from what I've heard -- and people are being told at 30 weeks that there's no ETA. Lycoming won't even provide parts lead times. I'm going with a field overhaul which is a bit quicker at 12 weeks. But I ordered cylinders ahead of time so if we include that lead time it's more like 20.
I'm sure things will get back to normal at some point but this is the norm for now. I can't even get oil filters at the moment.

Right, it's not just Austro engines suffering from long lead times. I heard that new Lycomings were being quoted eight months out and Continental was only slightly better. Austro may have been hit harder due to their lower volumes and record orders for DA62s during the past two years.
