I asked the factory about it back before I purchased my NG and they said they couldn't do it. I think the main impediment is the additional reinforcement required for the final increase in max landing weight, but I suspect some of the aerodynamic improvements are difficult to retrofit as well.
1. NG can't be converted to -VI.
2. TDI can be converted to -VI but MTOW will be 1900 kg (or so) instead of 1999 kg.
Closing on a DA42 on 19 SEP!

What's the detailed difference between the NG and -VI? Just curious

NG can have either KAP140 or GFC700 and it doesn’t feature -VI aerodynamic improvements.yl472401 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 9:23 pm What's the detailed difference between the NG and -VI? Just curious

Makes me wonder if there's a way to get those upgrade to -VI from NG?
Just curious

Congratulations! It is a great transition and you will enjoy it. Thanks for sharing the information. Mine is identical except for the GFC 700.

Completed the check ride on 11/9 and made first solo trip from Houston to Austin. Flew great and I'm very excited for future trips!
