Good Afternoon everyone, hope you are doing well.
I've recently started to notice the Hydraulic Pump actuating while taxiing after landing, it usually only happens after landing, not while taxiing before take off. The pump actuates once or twice in the taxi (sometimes it doesnt do it at all), so its not after every single landing, just sometimes. The landing gear seems to retract and extend just fine, nothing out of the ordinary with that. Also theres no signs of any hydraulic fluid leak anywhere. Anyone has any input for this situation?, is it just the system restoring/equlallizing pressure? or should this be addressed, thanks!

Re: Hydraulic Pump Actuating while taxiing
What you describe is unusual in my experience with both a DA42 and DA62 -- the only time I ever heard the pump run was right after initially turning the Electric Master ON before engine start. (Maybe I couldn't hear it run after landing because the engines were running?)
If you haven't already done this, I'd suggest going into the DA62 right front baggage compartment, pulling back the velcro and carpet to expose the hydraulic pump, and checking the pink fluid level in the round window to see if it's low.

Thank you! will take a look at the hydraulic pump next time I'm with the aircraft and will let you know if I saw something out of the ordinary.

Not knowing the Diamond twins all that well but having dealt with a few 100 piper products sometimes if you don't have a downlock switch rigged properly it will tell the system the gear is not down and locked. This makes the pump actuate and activates the switch so the pump shuts off. You can keep an eye on the downlock lights and see if one flickers at all.

I don't know how different the DA62 system is, but the pump on the DA42 activates on a pressure switch. Mine was running a little bit and the level was low, no leak.

Re: Hydraulic Pump Actuating while taxiing
According to the POH, the pump only runs when the hydraulic pressure drops below a certain level. An accumulator stores excess pressure so the pump doesn't have to run continuously. Count how many seconds the pump runs when you first turn on the electric master switch. If ever more than 20 seconds you are supposed to get a mechanic to check it out.

Re: Hydraulic Pump Actuating while taxiing
It could very well be bleeding internally and cycling the pump in the air, you just can't hear it. The pump should only have to kick on for a split second once an hour to maintain pressure if it is well sealed.
