By the serial number it’s not NG but maybe they changed the engine to Austro.

On one European forum a friend of mine wrote that unofficially there had been snow showers in the area at the time of the crash but I can’t confirm that information.

I don’t know what their planned destination was but taking into account their altitude, the terrain and type of clouds in the area, it could easily be VFR into IMC and icing was 100% there if they were in cloud - 0 degrees at approximately 1000 feet probably meant -12 to -15 degrees OAT at their altitude.
