Best Pivot mount for DA62

Post by Zebedee »

Looking for recommendations on best iPad MINI mount for DA62.

Seems RAM mount is most popular but which model is best to mount and position iPad mini as far left as possible away from panel etc.

Thanks

I use a Pivot case with the iPad Mini 6th gen. An arm around 4 inches attached to the ball mount works really well. The pencil is right there, the door opens and the air from the vent just about gets past it. The Pivot case is in my opinion the very best on the market. I usually slip the iPad off the mount to copy clearances. It takes less time than picking up a notepad.

Did you use the PIVOT Single Suction Cup Mount, or is there a better combination out there to position the mini more out of the way?

The thing about suction cups? Plan for it to drop on your lap, on the floor, etc. after significant altitude gains. For me it's usually around 4-5,000 ft. that my iPhone/mount drops on the seat. :D

I use a RAM mount. The EZ-Rollr cradle holds the iPad and a double socket medium length arm attaches to the ball.

In case it matters for others, I’ve used a Pivot mount suction cup on my DA40 canopy window and it has always been secure. Months abd months installed abd even after being repositioned. It holds much better than my RAM Mount suction cup for Status which does fall off regularly, although I no longer use it except for AHRS/ADS-B In backup.

Thanks for the update on Pivot Suction mount. I was regretting not getting the fixed airplane mount. I will try pivot case and mount. Hoping the extension of the arm is enough on the DA62 to clear obstacles and keep all the way to the left.

Thanks

Jim
