Re: DA62 on order or recently delivered?
Interesting point on accepting certifications from multiple jurisdictions. Do you know, do they also accept CAA certifications?Mike Jones wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2024 9:15 pm Just a quick update following my visit to Wiener Neustadt last week. ...Mine will be going onto 2-REG, which is the Channel Islands Register, which accepts both EASA and FAA certifications for both aircraft and pilots, allowing me to use my FAA IR immediately without the need for conversion.
Thanks

Do you know if that was Diamond as a whole, or just the Austria factory?Mike Jones wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2024 9:15 pmI did ask which model has the biggest order book especting it to be DA42 but in fact it is DA62 by a significant margin.

Two questions in one,
1. Re order book to be honest I didn't ask, as it was the Austrian Sales Director I am guessing he was focused on Austria. He indicated DA62 by a significant margin.
2. Re 2-REG, yes they accept CAA, FAA and EASA, complete common sense, a rare thing in Europe!

Waiting for DA62-277

I did. Supposedly the first in the US (or at least first w/ Premier) I'm awaiting a September completion with a October fly-over date on 62.302.

Re: DA62 on order or recently delivered?
GAMA numbers show the DA62 (worldwide) shipments have been trending upwards and DA42 losing steam over the past few years. I believe 2022 was the first year that they showed DA62 sales surpassing DA42. I'd be a little surprised if that didn't apply to both factories.Boatguy wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2024 10:10 pmDo you know if that was Diamond as a whole, or just the Austria factory?Mike Jones wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2024 9:15 pmI did ask which model has the biggest order book especting it to be DA42 but in fact it is DA62 by a significant margin.
Given the fact that DA42s outsold DA62s for several years prior, I'm surprised at how many used DA62s seem to be on the market compared to used DA42s. Used DA42-VI models are almost unobtanium.

Given the price spread, I think more or less "stripped" DA42's were going to flight academy's and schools.

Re: DA62 on order or recently delivered?
I recently took delivery of 62.265 (VH-X62). I picked it up from the factory in Austria and flew it all the way back to Sydney (Australia) with the ferry pilot. Around 58 hrs in the air. We had a 100gal ferry tank giving it around 12 hours endurance / 2000 nm range. What an amazing machine!! Not even a sore back at the end of it.

Ten hours in the seat is a good stretch, and you found it very comfortable. Stuart didn't use any auxiliary tanks for my delivery, but maybe the geopolitics were a bit more friendly a year ago. Great-looking plane!
