Yes, you are correct. I need to trim the rear of large firesleeve a bit shorter to expose the reflective sleeve more.

Re: RSB40-094 Rev. 1
Looking to have this done along with my upcoming overhaul. I was quoted $520 for parts WITHOUT shipping and a two week lead time from Diamond Canada. I'm sure the shipping, due to import nonsense, will be another $100.

Re: RSB40-094 Rev. 1
Matt:
The only part I sourced from Diamond was the reflective sleeve ($63.15 including shipping) from the Premier Aircraft parts department. they were nice enough to include it in one of their periodic orders from Canada, then just send it to me via USPS, allowing me to avoid the shipping/tariffs from Canada. I ordered the rest of the parts (standard firesleeve and clamps) from Aircraft Spruce - $93.37 with my Military discount. The only item on the Service Bulletin BOM I couldn't get was the firesleeve dip - everyone was out of stock, but my A&P had a can.
My A&P does not have a problem with me sourcing the parts directly, as long as they come with 8130s when necessary. I also try to avoid buying from Diamond, unless it is a Diamond - specific part. The cost savings are considerable. The example I often cite are the rubber nose gear shock donuts. I can get all six of them including shipping from the UK for the cost (without shipping) of onefrom Diamond. They are standard DIN parts.

It occurs to me this might also reduce those occasional low fuel pressure or high fuel flow readings one sometimes sees.

Re: RSB40-094 Rev. 1
I now have a quart of the firesleeve end dip. If anyone is looking to do this and needs it, let me know. It's with my overhaul shop at the moment but they should be done with it around November. It was $180 from Premiere; I probably only need an ounce of it. Not sure how much it will cost to ship but certainly less than $180. Likely everyone who wants to get this done could share my single quart .

I'm having this done this annual and may take you up on it if my mechanic hasn't already ordered some for the work.

Re: RSB40-094 Rev. 1
Just to close the loop on this SB, today I did a short post-Annual check flight. OAT was 94, engine running for about 30 minutes. Fuel pressure on shutdown was 28 psi. 5 minutes later it was still 28 psi. 20 minutes later (with oil door closed) it was 37 psi. 60 minutes later it was 29 psi.
So, in short, the insulating sleeve does seem to reduce the heat soak-induced fuel line pressure rise. I'll keep an eye on it for the next several longer flights.

Re: RSB40-094 Rev. 1
Hi!
I will resurrect this thread as I also noticed today my fuel pressure rising after shutdown in my -03 DA40 in which this SB has not been performed. Opening mixture reliefs the pressure. According the SB the risk in heat soak induced fuel pressure rise is that it can damage the fuel servo. I am wondering if leaving the mixture cracked after shutdown would remedy this risk? I understand the increased risk of inadvertent start if rotating prop and also having a faulty ground lead in magneto switch but in addition to that do you see other problems with leaving the mixt cracked?
