Michael, what are the symptoms you get when you say "it's not working" with the handheld.

Symptoms: I can hear ATC but ATC can only hear engine noise. As I write this I realize that makes no sense. But truly I could hear ATC but it could not hear me but said the engine noise was quite clear. Hmmmm.

That’s probably the PTT circuit problem. I expect ANR doesn’t work without batteries, correct?
