Re: GWX75 is certified
Here is the GWX 75 section extracted from the DA50 AFM.
One thing the Garmin training did make clear was that the GWX8000 StormOptix software automates most of the "tilt" fiddling. Yet another reason we'd like to see Phase 3 sooner rather than later.

Re: GWX75 is certified
I was unaware that the DA50 -- with an engine in the front of the fuselage, unlike Diamond twins -- had a location for mounting weather radar. But if you look at the GWX 75 MPEL diagram included in the Garmin G1000 NXi manual, it appears that radar emissions emanate from the right wing, perhaps providing a clue that Diamond intends to install DA50 weather radar in a wing-mounted pod (like a TBM, Pilatus PC-12, or Piper M600 single-engine turboprop).
I'm envious, since I'm still waiting for pod-mounted Garmin weather radar to become available for my single-engine Epic E1000.

Re: GWX75 is certified
There is no AFM supplement published yet. Premier was unaware of this when I took my plane in to get radar installed. So now I have radar installed, but it will be deactivated pending these publications. I have not picked the aircraft up yet and don’t know the details of the install time as several have asked. Premier is hopeful that the needed technical publications will be out in few days allowing me to pick up the aircraft with a functional radar.Boatguy wrote: ↑Sat Sep 30, 2023 6:59 pm For the GWX75, I can't find an AFM supplement on the Diamond tech pubs website, or a Garmin user manual anywhere on the web. There are bootleg copies for most Garmin products on the web with enough searching, but I can't find anything for the GWX75.
If anyone has this installed, would you please let us know what support materials, AFM supplement, manuals, etc. you received? And if they are in digital form, perhaps share?

The radar is installed and working, but Premier (really Diamond) won't let you fly the plane without an AFM supplement, which is not currently available?
If you want to fly your plane, they will disable the radar before they will let you depart?
Is that the situation?

I’m not 100% sure of what publication they are waiting on (I assume it’s the the AFM supplement), but you’ve summarized it perfectly. I can pick up the plane prior to this publication but if I do so they will have to disable the otherwise fully functional radar.

Re: GWX75 is certified
If they don't get the required paperwork in short order, are they going to pay your fuel/expense bill to fly back out to them to get the radar re-activated if they have unhooked the harness? Why not ask them to collar the CB and placard it as inop? I know some argue that's not deactivated, but a lot (and my AP/IA) say it is.

OSB 62-047 says "None" under Concurrent Documents and Reference Documents, but I've learned it is AFM-TR-OÄM 62-1016 as specified in the Work Instructions for OSB 62-047.

Re: GWX75 is certified
AP/IA received it today from Diamond. Should not be an issue for anyone.
It's essentially content free. The real content is in the G1000NXi Pilot's Guide Phase 3, which should be available whenever Phase 3 is finally certified.

That is good news! I’ll follow up with Premier tomorrow and make sure they know about this. Planning on picking up the plane on Friday and hoping to leave with an operational radar!
