Re: 1000 hr inspection
AMM has a checklist, some stuff is lube so not explicitly spelled out.
Horizontal stabilizer is pulled off momentarily to inspect the 4 aft attach bolt holes among some other stuff. Vertical elevator rod is removed and inspected along with aileron, flap, and elevator control rods. They're checked for rubbing and, if okay, get repainted. Wings are removed, spar bridge is tap tested, never seen or heard of one of these failing. NLG journal bearings and transverse tube is lubed along with the eye bolt that connect the elastomer pack to the engine tube mounts. Flap actuator block is lubed. Canopy springs used to be replaced but now go longer than 1000 hours. A bolt & B bolts are checked for tightness, wing bearings are checked as sometimes they get loose and need to be reinstalled with loctite or the entire assembly with resin. Good time to change out flight control bushings if you can and check out the rudder attach bracket bushings. Nothing extra on the engine.
I'm still surprised places do 1000 & 6000 hour inspections. Flight schools generally don't, but a reputable shop will, we do them. They're not as bad as they sound if the place knows what it is doing, but it is labor intensive.
