Governor
Is the same prop governor used by all Austro engines? I know the props are different on the 40/42/62, but do they all use the same governor?

Re: Governor
Answers from the MX manuals.
DA42NG and DA62 use the same MT governor, P-877-16.
DA40NG uses a different one, P-853-16.

Re: Governor
OK. That's reassuring. I was going through my paperwork and the governors were labeled as being parts for a 42 NG and it made me pause and wonder.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Governor
I’ve had to replace both engine prop governors in our 2017 DA-62: TT 650 hrs.. is this being broadly experienced?

Re: Governor
Has there been any changes to more recent governors that solve the past reliability issues?

Re: Governor
It is common to have a governor not go the distance. I decided to keep a spare on hand.

Re: Governor
Many of the twins I have been involved with have had prop governor problems. Typical issue is one governor starts wondering by as much as 35% lower load on a random time frame. Replacing the governor solves has nearly always solved this problem.

Re: Governor
Recently I have been problems which are likely a prop governor. At a high load setting the load will quickly drop a few per cent then recover to the original value. In the process, the engine vibrates like crazy if only for 3 or 4 seconds.
