There are a couple of things I noticed on my new-to-me 2001 DA-40
The first is a small puddle of what I assume is dried fuel, given the dark blue-green tint. This seems to have dripped from the smaller aluminum tube coming from under the engine - the one that’s not the exhaust. Would love to know what this tube is for. I assume this is excess fuel venting out somehow. This was a week after taxiing the plane with full tanks. Here is a picture.
Edit: it looks like this is normal and Rich described the purpose of this tube in another thread: viewtopic.php?t=7595
I also noticed two protrusions, one on each wing, at the same place. They are close to the landing gear strut and fuel sump.

Re: Fuel puddle and wing protrusions
It looks like Rich also explained what those little protrusions are- looks like they are jack points glued to the wing.

Re: Fuel puddle and wing protrusions
Oil/fuel drips out of that pipe. The oil is a result of ring blow-by and various misting in the engine. The fuel vents out of the injectors after shutdown and as a result of priming. You want to keep a shallow drip pan under this vent pipe when parked in the hangar. These are available at pretty much any auto parts store/department.

Mine has a mound of kitty litter under it that also serves as a wheel stop.

Re: Fuel puddle and wing protrusions
Thanks for the info about the source of the fuel stain and that it’s normal. I was going to suggest the possibility of a fuel pump leak which I believe often precedes a fuel pump failure.
