According to the registry an XLS. It'll be awhile but I'm real interested in the NTSB report. I's almost like the fuel pump was on to further fuel an engine compartment fire.mfdutra wrote: ↑Fri Dec 22, 2023 7:53 pm https://www.abc4.com/news/wasatch-front ... k-airport/

From the ng thread I thought that avgas engines were way safer than jeta… now I’m confused? Which is it?

Kudos to the pilots for getting their plane down and walking away from an in-flight engine fire!

There is a thread here on LiveATC with a link to the news story and the CTAF audio from the Mayday call and subsequent landing and fire. Much credit to the pilot for keeping his cool and getting it on the ground with an engine fire.

In the audio he said "oil fire". Sounds like he already knew oil was leaking..

I listened to the audio and watched the video posted. The pilot did a great job handling the situation and landing. What hit home with me was, that was my airplane prior to buying my Panthera.
