Color fading on wings

Post by arksat »

I have 2005 DA40. Always hangared.
Last weekend I noticed there are slight color fadings on the inboard leading edge with an interesting shape.
Does anyone know this issue?
I photoshopped the images to increase contrast. The actual color is very subtle but still noticeable.

This sure looks like remnants of a composite repair.

My thoughts also. My birdstrike repair from 20+ years ago is very slightly visible in just the right light and angle.

Thanks. There's no composite repair history in my logbook. I'll need to talk to my mechanic...

my plane has a few subtle small spots that look similar, despite never having any composite repair. I have always wondered about them and figured it was some touchup at the factory before delivery.
