The happiness of a Diamond owner is directly proportional to the distance from a service center. You are very lucky to have one on field.

Re: MSB-E4-042 - Crankshaft-bearing cap screws replacement
Not that I need to tell anyone here but I just picked up my plane from SouthTec (great folks). I asked them if it was an AD yet and they didn’t think so but probably didn’t have this latest. I kinda asked whether they thought the plane should have been grounded when it was ‘just’ an MSB and not an AD and they told me that had seen engines with the bolt heads sheared off. In fact they saw this before the MSB and it may have been their reports that got diamond to look at the issue.
So yes, this was something that fully needed the grounding of planes. It’s frustrating, especially for those of us who had hardly even got to fly our planes, but absolutely necessary.

Hey 40 drivers. Has anyone had the AD complied with yet? What was the experience?

Not sure that 40NG, 42-VI and 62 makes any difference; same engine. My DA62 was completed after six weeks which was certainly the bad part of the experience.
Beyond that, it flies just like before. I can't tell there are six new bolts in each engine. But of course I was happy before it was grounded also. Ignorance is bliss?

My DA62 is back as well, with new bolts. It flies the same it’s ever flown.

Had mine replaced 4 weeks ago - 12 hours for the DA40NG
