I wanted to ask a question regarding doing run up in 2021 DA40NG.
I warm up engine, everything in the green, throttle idle, no fuel pump on, no transfer pump on, etc. Push the button and no response at all. No error message, nothing. Like I didn't push it. I've shut down, started back up and then it has worked. I've shut down and started back and then didn't work also. Had my mechanic (Diamond certified) look at it, and he called Diamond. I wondered if the button was faulty. Diamond said they had never sold one of those buttons before. He replaced it and it worked the next time I tried it, but than not the next again.
Switching manually from ecu a to b- both working.
Any ideas?
Thanks for the input!

Re: run up button
One of my runup buttons had this behavior once after maintenance. I believe it turned out to be a loose connection somewhere between the button and the ECU.

Re: run up button
I'll go out on a limb and ask if you're using the ENGINE page to make sure all temperatures are in the green. The gearbox temperature is often the last one to warm up, and it isn't visible in the "regular" engine information display. The test button won't initiate the ECU test cycle if all temperatures are not warmed up.

Re: run up button
It's also happened after stopping for fuel when the engine has been running for a couple of hours..

If the AC is on (and the windows are shut) it won't godoclink wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2024 6:19 pm I wanted to ask a question regarding doing run up in 2021 DA40NG.

If the throttle is slightly forward it won't go. I have noticed that sometime moving it back and forth once might help.
On the first one... there must be some pressure differential measured... which I can't think of why that would happen to you but maybe?

Re: run up button
Don't have A/C , tried the throttle thing too. Having my mechanic look at the connections and hoping that is the issue. I'll update once it's figured out.
